Brock Lovett:
Brock Lovett is a treasure hunter looking for the "Heart of the Ocean" in the wreck of the Titanic in 1996. Time and funding for his expedition are running out. He disovers the drawing of Rose that Jack sketched and it is publicized on TV. Brock gets a call from an Old Rose DeWitt Bukater and he invites her to his ship. He listens to her story about her life on the Titanic. He later reflects that, despite thinking about nothing but Titanic for three years, he has never understood it until he hears Rose's story.
